My Honor to Meet Pope Francis

Dear Friends,

What a whirlwind of a week in Rome as one of only 150 leaders to participate in the invitation-only World Congress on “Child Dignity in the Digital World.”

I am so encouraged to share with you that at last, after over two decades of fighting to make the Internet safer for children, I was honored to strategize with other world leaders who are as passionate and devoted as we are to protecting innocent children from sexual exploitation and abuse in the ever evolving Digital World.

We had the wonderful honor to meet with His Holiness Pope Francis who applauded our efforts to work together in a holistic unified fashion moving forward….QUICKLY!!

EIE President Donna Rice Hughes with Pope Francis

"As I shook his hand, I told him I was praying for
his strength and wisdom. He chuckled and said, 'Thanks, I need it.'"
#childdignity

He humbly expressed his deep commitment to work together to protect children from "extremely troubling things on the net, including ... extreme pornography..... sexting....online bullying...solicitation of minors for sexual purposes....online trafficking....and live viewing acts of rape and violence against minors." (Read his entire “Address to the Congress.”)

The Congress presented “The Declaration of Rome” to Pope Francis which outlined concrete calls to action among governments, industry leaders, law enforcement, religious leaders and academia worldwide, which included a call for the following:

“To world leaders to undertake a global awareness campaign to educate and inform the people of the world about the severity and extent of the abuse and exploitation of the world’s children and to urge to demand action from national leaders.” (read entire Declaration)

Sound familiar? This is a large part of Enough Is Enough®’s work in America, most recently with the historic Children’s Internet Safety Presidential Pledge signed by President Trump.

We already met with Attorney General Jeff Sessions and his team regarding one of the Pledge promises “to aggressively enforce the hard-core porn (obscenity) laws" which were ignored completely by the last DOJ!

One thing the Congress agreed on is that there is much work to do and too few resources. Will you please support our efforts at EIE? We are joined at the hip with these global leaders to do our part here in America and to help bring our successful efforts like the Porn Free WiFi Campaign and Presidential Pledge to other nations.

Please partner with us financially today and make your largest donation possible and Remember, when you partner with us, your will be standing right alongside us in the fight against digital dangers facing our children.

The clock is ticking and untold multitudes of children worldwide everyday are being harmed online. Your funds will actually DO something and Make a Difference and Lord willing, Save a Child's innocence and dignity.

If not us, Who? We simply cannot more forward without your support. Thank you in advance for your tax-deductible gift.

P.S. Each day we met in small groups to discuss and make additional recommendations that will be added to the Declaration mentioned above. I am excited to let you know that the following recommendation I made has been approved: All Catholic churches, institutions, and schools worldwide adopt a Safe WiFiSM policy to filter porn and child pornography.

Friends, our proven programs can be duplicated on a global scale. We are grateful for this opportunity which is afforded by your generous donation today.
