Gizmodo: McDonald's No Longer Offering Free Porn
 

Bad news perverts: McDonald’s free public wi-fi will begin using filters to keep customers from watching porn in its restaurants. The filtering will eventually affect all corporate-owned locations. McDonald’s says the new policy is aimed at creating “a safe environment.”

After two years of pressure, the world’s biggest burger chain finally caved to internet safety group Enough Is Enough® (EIE), which seeks to keep kids from seeing mature content online. EIE has had success with other fast food companies: Subway’s footlongs are now strictly sandwiches; Chik-fil-A chickens remain unchoked; I’ve got nothing for Panera Bread but you get the idea.

And in case you were wondering, a lot of people were consuming smut at McDonald’s. Over the years videos have surfaced of customers and employees watching porn both inside McDonald’s locations and using the wifi from the parking lot. So uh... hopefully the new filters will prevent any more of those incidents from happening.
