Loudoun Times-Mirror: At Leesburg event, officials and activists say social media, porn pose threat to young people
 

Young people are at risk of exploitation as technology evolves, according to officials and activists who spoke at the Protecting Kids Online Community Town Hall in Leesburg on Nov. 30.

"The internet has opened up a perfect storm for the online exploitation of children," event moderator Donna Rice Hughes told about 300 people at Cornerstone Chapel. "Anywhere a child is connected to the internet is where sexual predators, traffickers, pornographers, and others are grooming and exploiting our kids."

Rice Hughes is president of Enough is Enough, a nonprofit "dedicated to raising public awareness about the dangers of Internet pornography, sexual predators and traffickers," according to the group's website.
