Enough Is Enough® Announces Partnership with Virginia Attorney General

Program helps faith-based communities protect kids from online dangers

RICHMOND - December 15, 2009 -- Enough Is Enough® (EIE) today announced a new partnership with the Virginia Attorney General's Office to distribute the award-winning Internet Safety 101® program to parents, educators and other caring adults in churches, synagogues and mosques across Virginia.

"The Internet Safety 101® Program is uniquely designed to be distributed through organizations with broad-based grassroots networks, and Enough Is Enough® is proud to partner with Attorney General Bill Mims to deliver the Program to faith-based communities throughout the Commonwealth," said Donna Rice Hughes, EIE President and Executive Producer of Internet Safety 101®.

EIE views this partnership as an important continuation of the Attorney General's efforts that began with the 2006 Youth Internet Safety Task Force that championed statewide efforts to combat the online exploitation of youth.

"No child is immune to Internet dangers," Hughes noted. "The multi-media Internet Safety 101® Program educates, equips and empowers parents, educators and other caring adults to be the first line of defense to protect children from the Internet's dark side and to ensure children have a safe and rewarding experience online."

The distribution of the 1,000 Internet Safety 101® Program kits to the Virginia Family Foundation and the Virginia Interfaith Center for Public Policy is funded in part by the Attorney General's Youth Internet Safety fund and was matched through Enough Is Enough®'s U.S. Department of Justice grant. The Virginia Interfaith Center and the Family Foundation of Virginia will distribute the program to their network of thousands of faith-based partners across Virginia. The Virginia Attorney General's Office will also work with the groups during the next several months to train the religious community, which has historically lacked Internet safety programs.

The Internet Safety 101® Program includes a workbook, DVD, interactive Web site and other resources. The widely acclaimed teaching series paints a comprehensive picture of online dangers and safety solutions. Firsthand accounts from law enforcement officers, clinicians, victims, kids, parents, industry leaders and even a convicted sex offender are woven into the compelling four-part DVD series and accompanying materials. EIE produced the multi-media 101 Program in partnership with the United States Department of Justice, AOL, MySpace, Verizon, AT&T and other partners. The pilot version of the Program was launched statewide in 2008 in partnership with the Virginia Parent Teacher Association and the Virginia Verizon Foundation.

Enough Is Enough® will be launching the Internet Safety 101SM program nationally early next year.
